This area is located in the center-west part of Nepal in the Shey-Phoksundo National Park. Lower dolpa offers a wonderful chance to experience a landscape and culture far different from that seen in other parts of Nepal. The least complicated trek to undertake, and one of the most popular treks in the west of Nepal. This remote and rugged protected area is attractive both scenically and culturally. The area is the habitat of various rare and endangered species of wildlife and plant diversity, which can be seen nowhere else in Nepal or in the world.
Isolated until 1989, the Dolpo area is known for it's surreal beauty and stunning charm. Situated in the rain-shadowed side of the Himalaya, the rugged scenery shows dramatic views, compared to similar altitudes elsewhere in the Nepal. There are no lush green hills fed by monsoon rains, but a thrilling hardcore landscape, guarded by impressive peaks, striving towards heaven. The Dolpo region offers visiters ancient and isolated villages, immortal to time. It provides you with sites of spectacular lakes, authentic Buddhist monasteries and plentiful wildlife (including Blue sheep, mountain goat, jackal, wolf and snow leopard). If you are looking for real adventure and challenge, Dolpo won’t disappoint you.
Kanchanjanga is third highest peak of the world, one of the most remote and beautiful areas in Nepal which, unknow by foreign visitors, still lies shrouded in mystery. The features of the trek include; pleasant villages in the lower region then in the high regions, glorious mountains and abundant wild life. It is located in the extreme northeast corner of Nepal bordering Sikkim(an Indian state) to the east and China to the North. This includes musk deer, blue sheep and for the believer, the Yeti! This trek begins at Tumlingtar or Taplejung accessible by air, or Ilam or Basantpur accessible by road. Soaring peaks, the Yalung Glacier and a wide variety of natural vegetation and agriculture areas can be seen in this region and magnificent views of Mt. Everest, Makalu and Kanchanjunga massif will make the trip memorable.
Mustang is a very popular trekking region in Nepal and has been described as a, “desert in the mountain”. The trek to this region is a very rewarding one for those who want to experience the hospitality of the people living in this remote region. The Department of Immigration issued only a small number of special permits since 1991. This is a perfect destination where ample scope is offered for visiting Buddhists monasteries. This semi autonomous and heavily Tibetan influenced region is described as be more fascinating for being so little known. The trek to LO – Manthang is through an almost treeless, barren landscape, a steep rocky trail up and down hill, panoramic view of Nilgiri, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and several others peaks. A liaison officer is needed for this trek. This trek begins from Jomsom - accessible by air, Pokhara – accessible by road or Besisahar – accessible by road (if starting from Besisahar include Annapurna circuit too).
